Reviews For Patience In Norwich

Susan Moore - Lady Jane in ETO PATIENCE, Norwich Theatre Royal
Susan Moore - Lady Jane in ETO PATIENCE, Norwich Theatre Royal

"Plainest of the lovesick maidens is The Lady Jane, sung tonight by understudy Susan Moore. You would not know this, as she delivers a masterpiece of comic timing and performance in this Contralto role, and receives warm applause for her efforts at the curtain call"

NORWICH EYE

"For this farewell performance, Susan Moore replaced Valerie Reid as the doughty Lady Jane. Her “rugged old bosom” harbours a splendid traditional contralto, and she makes a great job of her solo, accompanying herself not on a cello, but on a double bass whose generous curves echo her own"

MICHAEL GRAY

"Susan Moore making good use of her ample charms and matching contralto tones in the role of Lady Jane"

A real female pirate is at the centre of our 2017 commission CUTLASS CREW

I am very excited to be starting the design process on the 2017 W11 Opera CUTLASS CREW based on the real life story of Lady Mary Killigrew. You can register to audition from the beginning of June and I will be sending out information about registering and the audition process in the next couple of weeks. Anyone between the ages of 9-18 can audition and we take as many applicants as we can. If you love singing, acting and dancing this is the company for you! We offer training as part of the rehearsal process in good vocal technique, stage craft and movement. Roles are allocated on merit so it doesn't matter if this is your first time on stage or you are really experienced, there are lots of opportunities for all.

SILVER ELECTRA - a new opera about the fate of aviatrix Amelia Earhart

We've had an amazing two weeks rehearsing a new opera by Russell Hepplewhite and Tim Yealland and designed by Jude Munden for English Touring Opera. It's an amazing piece that explores Amelia's life through beautiful music, imaginative storytelling and an exquisite and ever-changing set. We mainly tour schools but you can catch us at:

The W11 Opera Ambassadors are a group or peer leaders who are current cast members in our 2015 opera - Eliza & the Swans. We've already been on two theatre visits. The first to see our wonderful MD conducting The Tales of Hoffmann for Emglish Touring Opera and the second, a trip to the West End to see Mamma Mia. We were lucky enough to be able to have backstage tours and meet cast members at both shows. The Ambassadors have also reviewed both productions so please follow our REVIEWS link to read them.

SOMETHING CHILDISH & New Sheet Music From Russell Hepplewhite

Russell Hepplewhite - Composer & Pianist

It was lovely to return to the The Swallow Theatre with the wonderful Russell Hepplewhite. Russell and I have created a new song recital programme that includes a new cycle written especially for me entitled Something Childish, but very natural which are three songs set to Samual Taylor Coleridge poems.

Russell has also recently had three of his choral pieces published by Banks Music Publications. You can purchase the sheet music online from the link above or hear recordings by following the links below:
